The Lecture In our time, more than ever, it is necessary to know and understand how God is present in our lives. The Hebrew Bible maintains that God was present to Israel through divine intervention. The Chosen People acknowledge God’s workings by means of worship and the way of their lives. Writing for a Jewish community, Matthew demonstrates how the living God is made visible in Jesus, the son of Abraham. Today, God’s presence continues to be made manifest in the Church and in the lives of believers.
