As we prepare ourselves to enter the season of Advent, I want to thank you for supporting St. John’s Seminary amid the challenges we have all faced this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year we encountered many unprecedented challenges: financial loss, employee-remote working, social-distance learning, our Virtual Gala, outdoor priestly ordinations, covid-19 restrictions, onsite event cancelations, among other challenges. Thanks to your support and prayers, we have thus far overcome many of these trials. But the road ahead is still uncertain. As a religious nonprofit organization, we rely first and foremost on God’s providence, counting on the support from our brothers and sisters in Christ. St. John’s Seminary understands that this time is particularly challenging for many, but if you can, however big or small, please consider a gift to St. John’s Seminary this Christmas Season. Your support, especially during this crisis, means the world to our seminarians. Through your prayers and support, your journey with them toward one of the most important decisions of their life… to give themselves fully to the Lord in the service of His holy people.
The days ahead are uncertain, but together let us contemplate in our hearts the Gospel message, “And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14). Indeed, we are more important than all of God’s creation, for it is us to whom the Father sent his only begotten Son to console us in all our hardships. Let us then prepare ourselves to welcome the child Jesus into our hearts, that his divine purity and innocence may once again set our hearts on fire.
Thank you and may the love of God bless you, your loved ones, and keep you safe. Please continue to keep St. John’s Seminary and our seminarians in your prayers.
